What Checked means, what we do with your files, and what we do not promise.

What Checked means

Checked means HumanSeal reviewed files you uploaded and found them consistent with your self-assessment answers. We look for readable documents that mention human work, headcount, training, or production in ways that align with what you reported.

Checked is not an on-site audit, legal certification, or employment-law review. It is document consistency review plus founder sign-off on founding and early cohorts.

What we collect

For a Listed (free) profile: your assessment answers, company profile fields, work email, and optional logo upload.

For Checked: at least two evidence files (e.g. payroll summaries, training records, production notes) in plain text formats (.txt, .csv, .md).

How long we keep files

Assessment and profile data stay while your listing is active or as needed to operate the registry.

Evidence files are kept for the Checked subscription period and a reasonable retention window for disputes and renewals. Contact us to request deletion.

Who can access

Public certificate pages show scores, tiers, and company profile fields you chose to publish — not your uploaded evidence files.

Evidence files are visible to HumanSeal administrators for review only. They are not published on your public profile.

Request deletion

Email [email protected] from your verified company inbox. We will delete or anonymize evidence on request where we are not required to retain records for billing or abuse prevention.

What Checked does not mean

  • Not a guarantee that every job at the company is human-led
  • Not B Corp, Fair Trade, or ISO certification
  • Not an on-site factory or workplace inspection
  • Not a shopper safety or product-quality certification
